The Annoyingly Realistic Platformer: The slightly-less-annoying update

The Annoyingly Realistic Platformer: Slightly-less-annoying update

Changelog (Major changes in Italic)

  • The game now resets the OBJECTS, (not the scene,) when the player dies. (That means it's not refreshing the entire level for anyone that doesn't do game development.) This means that the music/camera does not reset suddenly, which a lot of people have been asking for.
  • Downgraded the post-processing, (or special effects,) so the game is MUCH less CPU/RAM intense. Now people with less-expensive PCs can play.
  • Made level 10 (the second-to-last level,) slightly harder. In my opinion it was a bit too easy.
  • Added a text in the tutorial that informs the player on why the post-processing is gone. (The text needs to be readable.)

Plans for the future (Objects that are in the far future or may never happen in italics.)

  • Chapter two...?
  • More lore...?
  • Change the credits to my new name. I just realized I forgot to do that. I'll do that REALLY soon. lol.

What is The Annoyingly Realistic Platformer?

The Annoyingly Realistic Platformer is like any other platformer, but I removed a feature so weird, yet so important from it... You can't change directions mid-air!

To time your jump, build up JUST enough speed in whatever direction you want to go! Then, jump and hope you make it!

IMPORTANT NOTES

-If you build up speed in one direction and switch directions and go the opposite way the same distance you traveled at first without letting go of the keyboard for a little bit, the two build-ups will cancel each other out. In order to fix this, always take your finger off the keyboard and quickly put it back on before changing directions.

-You have a small booster. Keep holding up to stay in the air longer. (This totally isn't because I realized it too late, when I had already made all the levels. And removing it could break some of them. Haha.) 😅
